Euro-Pro Shark Deluxe Steam Pocket Mop (Review)

A few months ago, I was contacted by Shark to try out the new Euro-Pro Shark Deluxe Steam Pocket Mop in my home.  It’s an eco-friendly product that turns ordinary tap water into a powerful steam cleaner and sanitizer removing 99.99% of harmful bacteria and providing a healthier and more effective alternative to chemical cleaning.

I was intrigued by the product because since I have three kids and two pets at home, I don’t like using harmful chemicals to clean the floors.  I’ve wanted a cleaning solution that was both natural and non-toxic for awhile now so what’s better than steam to get your floors squeaky clean?

Before I received the product, I did a little research on the steam mop.  I found out that a dad of 4 daughters invented this mop because he wanted a product that cleaned his floors with little to no chemicals at all.  What a genius!  All you need is 2 pints of water – that little bit of water will clean approximately 2,000 square feet of flooring.

After learning all the information about the mop, I couldn’t wait to try it out.

When I received the box, I have to be honest and say I was super excited to use it, kind of like a school girl kind-of-happy.  I knew I was going to have clean floors with just using water.  What I didn’t know was that I had to put it together.  You see, I’m a simple girl, especially when it comes to cleaning my floors.  All I need is an anti-bacterial cleanser, water, a mop and a bucket and I’m done.  I thought I was going to go crazy just putting the mop together.  When I finally read the instructions, I was relieved to know that it was very simple to put it all together.  It literally took seconds to put the pieces together (just three).

After the mop was put together, I added the water and viola.  There was steam coming out from the bottom of the mop head and was ready to use.  It was really easy and simple to use.  It’s refreshing to know that I was cleaning with just plain ol’ water. I have wood floors throughout the house and tiles in the bathrooms and both floors came out spotless!  I couldn’t ask for a better product. 

My favorite features:

• 2-sided cleaning.
• Chemical free cleaning.
• 30 Foot cord.
• Large water tank.
• Swivel steering.
• The mop heads are 100% machine washable.
• Floors are left 99.99% bacteria-free.

My not-so-favorite features:

• It’s heavy.
• The cord can sometimes get in the way.
• The need to position the mop to add the water can be troublesome.
• The clips that hold on to the mop itself slips off.

Overall, I would reccommend the steam mop because it does clean your floors well with no chemicals and removes 99.99% of harmful bacteria.  It also decreases your mopping time.  My back did not hurt at all after each use because there’s no need to bend down to move the mop back and forth over and over.   You will not be disappointed in this product.
