Stop & Shop Back-To-School Saving Event With a FREE $10 Gift Card

stop-and-shopIn New York, school is in session starting today. My kids were so excited about school, they even woke up EXTRA early. Not something they usually do, but I was glad I didn’t have to fight for them to get up.

Now that they’re back in school, I can concentrate on saving money when I go shopping at Stop & Shop. I don’t know about you but I can’t concentrate on getting the best deal, like what’s on sale or what coupon I have when I have my kids with me because all they want is junk food and they argue about what I should buy.

Right now, they have some awesome deals on lots of General Mills brands. Such as, Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Reeses Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cookie Crisp Sprinkles, Cookie Crisp, Fruit Snacks, Old El Paso Dinner Kits, Pillsbury Strudel, Pillsbury Scrambles, Green Giant Boxed Vegetables, Yoplait Yo-Plus Multi-Pack, Fiber One Yogurt Multi-Pack, Pillsbury Refrigerated Cookies, Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, Pillsbury Sweet Rolls and Yoplait Delights.

There’s also some additional savings for you or your school, depending on which Stop & Shop location you shop at.  If your Stop & Shop store sells gas, when you buy four (4) participating General Mills items, you’ll automatically earn 100 points on your Stop & Shop card.  For every 100 points earned, you’ll save 10¢ per gallon of gas (Please note: Total discount cannot exceed price per gallon).  Just swipe your Stop & Shop Card at the pump to redeem your Gas Rewards.

For those Stop & Shop locations without gas stations, don’t worry – you’re not left out of the savings – if you buy five (5) participating General Mills products, you will receive 20 Bonus Box Tops for your school.

And now for the giveaway!!

Thanks to My Blog Spark & General Mills, they are offering one of my readers a chance to score a $10 GIFT CARD to Stop & Shop.

The rules are really simple. All you have to do is answer this one question (plus something else):

HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK YOU CAN SAVE ON YOUR NEXT SHOPPING TRIP?

After that question is answered, you can try to be comment #70 by giving me tips on how to save money.  You can comment as many times as you please, just as long as it’s related to saving money.

That’s it!!!! HURRY! This giveaway expires tonite at 9PM. GOOD LUCK!

  1. Honestly, I’m horrible at saving! I only save an estimated $3 -$5 per trip. I don’t keep track of what is in my cart, but I can tell you that every time I go to Stop & Shop, I always think my bill is going to be around $300 by how much is in the cart and yet I’ve never spent more than $200 on one trip. So their prices must be lower than my regular supermarket.

  2. Coupons, coupons, coupons! I get whatever coupons I can from where ever I can and use them when items are on sale!

  3. I usually save about 20% – 40% of my bill.

  4. You can clip coupons.

  5. Browse circulars and match sales with coupons to get items cheaper!

  6. Stockpile on sale items.

  7. Compare prices in other stores.

  8. Subscribe to newsletters.

  9. I can usually do at least 50% above. Hopefully the same or even better on next round.

  10. Have your own price book so you know the bottom line.

  11. Match coupons with store ad for best deal.

  12. I can save at least $25-$35 shopping at Stop & Shop between their own sales and my extensive coupon cutting

  13. Often overlooked way of saving money is to make sure you join your store’s ‘rewards card’ and bring them with you each time you shop. I love that most have the ‘mini’ version you can clip to your keychain. I save tons using them especially at the supermarket and drugstore.

  14. I am such a coupon Nazi! Two of my co-workers and I started a coupon club and we save hundreds a month. No joke. The two other women don’t have a 1 year old so I get all the baby coupons. I would highly recommend it.
Another good tip is to only buy things that are on sale. So when I go to Stop & Shop I buy the sale items and use my coupons. I only pay full price on produce if I have too.
