It happened again!

I can’t believe it.  The power went out AGAIN!  It’s weird but before I went to sleep, I had this funny feeling this was going to happen again.  I have no idea why but I did.  About 3AM, I woke up because I needed to use the bathroom (I drink alot of water before I go to sleep).  After 15-20 minutes later, the power went out.  I was so upset.  I really wanted to go back to sleep.  I was so tired.  I got out of bed and checked outside and saw that everything was pitch-black once again.  In my mind I said, “Here we go again”.  This is the second time this has happened in the last two weeks.  This usually doesn’t happen where I live so something is definitely wrong.

Anyway, I went to the kitchen to try to find a flashlight and I could not find it.  So I grab my hubby’s cell phone and used it as a flashlight.  I checked my 3 year old and to my surprise, she was still asleep.  Like I said before in this post, we can’t sleep without our air purifiers so that is why I was shocked she was sound asleep.  After that, I went into bed and just laid there because it was too damn quiet.  I even heard my hubby’s stomach growling and my daughter breathing in the next room.  I am a very light sleeper so those noises kept me up until I was knocked out from exhaustion.  About 4 hours later (approx. 7:20AM), my daughter walks into the room and the electricity was turned back on again.  I was so happy and excited to hear the air purifier.  I really wanted to go back to sleep but since hubby couldn’t even go to work (no electricity, no hot water), he wanted to get up and make a Sunday breakfast.  All I wanted to do was go back to sleep.

You know, losing power isn’t that bad if you really think about it.  The best thing about losing power is not paying for electricity for those hours.

So, how was your night? I hope it was better than mine.

Comments

  1. I hate nights like that when I’m awake in the middle of the night for hours.

  2. We;ve had a lot of severe thunderstorms Upstate, but I haven’t had any power loss, which seems amazing. Then again, I am connected to the same grid as the commercial center, so the power company has probably installed things better here.

I kind of like not paying for that electric, too! Sometimes I think I’d love to go back to the days of no electricity. But I’d miss the Internet way too much.
