I hate rejection!

I can’t believe it. My blog was rejected by someone through Entrecard.  They claimed it was because it was not relevant.  WHAT??!! That person’s blog used to be on my favorites.  Needless to say, they are no longer on my list.  I really can’t believe that!

Has this happened to anyone else?

  1. Aw, don’t take it personally. I have had rejections, and I’ve given them, too. Sometimes it just has to do with readership. I have rejected some ads not because I was against them, but because maybe they talked about more uncomfortable topics or had associations with unsavory sites. My kids read my blogs! I have a large kid readership, actually, so I try to be very selective about the ads. Just thought that might help you put these things in perspective. 🙂

  2. Yep! Got one just the other day. Don’t understand why people do that. I’ve gotten a few ‘not relevant injections’ before from the pet bloggers. And gee, I luv animals. Specially dogs!
Oh well…….. Whaaaaat can ya do? LOL!!

  3. Thanks for dropping your card on my blog!
yes, I have been rejected a few times and it makes no sense whatsoever! One of the blogs I was rejected by was another parenting blog too, can you believe that!?
I have only rejected a couple of blogs before and only because they had just too much nudity on them, I personally have no issue with stuff like that, it’s the internet feel free to post as you wish, but I just felt it was a little bit too much for my blog to link to.
Honestly though, that was when I first joined entrecard, probably now if those same ones requested I would allow them, I have allowed some of the political blogs to advertise and most of those I have MAJOR issues with what they have to say LOL, so if I’m allowing them I might as well allow everyone. Nobody has to read their blogs if they don’t want to!

  4. Not yet but I have 8 pending. I just don’t know why they would do it. I feel rejection is headed my way soon as well. Makes you want to cry!

  5. So far I’ve not been rejected, but I’ve only been dropping cards for two months. I am pretty selective about who I advertise on, mainly those who advertise on me first or those in the same category as myself. BUT, I’m sure it’ll come. I would say don’t take it personal, but I know that’s easier said than done, right?!

  6. I’ve had the same thing. I figure it’s their loss. Not only do I not advertise on their site, but if they feel my blog isn’t relevant to theirs, I also no longer drop on their site.
I try to not place ads on sites I don’t feel are relevant, so I find that an unacceptable reason. That’s just my opinion.

  7. hi Chica,

love your work! I agree with Mrs Mecomber – do NOT take it personally! A tip I picked up in my marketing days: celebrate each “no” as one step closer to the “yes”. The occasional “no” is inevitable in life, may as well celebrate it when it happens b/c then it’s out of the way! lol

  8. What I don’t like is when my ad gets rejected without any reason. This is very sad. At least they could tell me why they didn’t want my ad on their site.

Once I got rejected on a music blog because the cats were too cute… Well, what I should say for something like that.

  9. hi! am very new to entrecard so haven’t been rejected. I would probably feel bad too when it happens..

anyways, yours is a nice blog so keep up!
