I can’t believe she broke Elvis Presley’s record with this song! Now, don’t get me wrong; Mariah is a fantastic singer. Her voice is like magic but this song is too sexual for my kids that know just a small bit of sex. They’ve mentioned to me several times, “Mommy, that song is nasty, can you change it?” OMG!! Can you believe a 9 year old and an 11 year old telling their mom to change a song on the radio because it’s nasty? So, yea; it’s officially banned from my car and my house. It’s just too graphic about sex and I think it’s inappropriate for kids ages 3, 9 and 11.
So, what do you think? Am I being overly dramatic?
With young kids you have to be careful. I personally love this song, but wouldn’t play it if my kids were young. Another song I used to listen to on my mp3 player was Prince’s Erotic City. I can sing all the words, but they didn’t need to know that! LOL
the songs have stopped being suggestive and have become in your face! Before only adults could figure out what the songwriter is saying but now it’s spelled out for you.
Tell me about it.. I use to sing certain songs when I was younger and I never knew what they meant until I was an adult. Times are crazy now!
