On March 29th, TANGLED will make its debut on Blu-ray and DVD. Did you know Tangled is Disney’s 50th animated film? I couldn’t believe it either. Disney has its own way of creating their own special magic and I truly believe their magic never dies down. If you haven’t seen Disney’s newest film TANGLED, you’re in for a treat. I recently saw it and fell in love with it (as with any Disney movie). It’s a love story with many bumps throughout the movie so you’re always entertained.
The film is about Rapunzel, a girl with 70 feet of hair who breaks free from her tower with the help of Flynn Ryder, a notorious thief. On their journey, they encounter a super-cop horse, a gang of pub thugs, and many more interesting characters, all while Rapunzel embraces her new found independence.
TANGLED is a wonderful contemporary spin on a well loved story. The theme of independence and gaining confidence through trying new things is central to the film, and Rapunzel serves as a wonderful strong role model. The film has a something for everyone: action, comedy, singing, heart and of course, 70 feet of hair!
My Thoughts
I LOVED this movie but you can say that I’m biased because I love everything Disney. This movie is definitely in my see-again list. When I received the combo pack in the mail, my daughter jumped up and down with excitement. She could not contain herself because she has been wanting to see this movie since Thanksgiving. Her favorite part in the movie was when Rupunzel was a little girl. She loved the way she had a huge imagination with just household things laying around her house all while keeping herself busy knowing she could not leave her home.
My most favorite part was when the King and Queen received the news about their long-lost daughter. While they waited by the door, my heart skipped a beat because it was so beautiful. Once the doors opened, it was magical. Imagine not knowing what happened to your baby girl who was taken from her crib and not seeing her for 18 years. The joy her mom had when she saw her daughter for the first time in years. I know it’s just a movie, a “cartoon” nonetheless but it still gets me. When I watch an animated film, I’m drawn to the story, no matter what.
