I know things have been a little quiet around here lately. Life has been one crazy roller coaster after another. I can barely go on my computer to post on my blog without any distractions (have so much on my mind!!) and most days, I can barely make out a complete sentence when I'm either speaking or writing. If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and/or Facebook, then you know I'm pretty active in those areas but when it comes to attending blog events or writing on my blog, I just … [Read more...]
Let’s Talk About Date Night
Ahhh Date night -- It's a wonderful thing between two people or sometimes more. It's a time where you can just hang out, have a few drinks, eat and relax. It's especially wonderful when you can talk to your spouse without any interruptions from the kids and just talk about ANYTHING on date night. THAT is our dilemma. But isn't that the main reason couples go on date night anyway? To be alone as husband and wife. To listen to each other as a lover and friend? To remind one another that … [Read more...]
A Thousand Years Younger.
Today's my birthday. I'm a thousand years younger - according to my 7 year old. It's actually something she said when I came home last Thursday from getting my hair highlighted, cut and straighten. As soon as I got home, she shouted, "Mommy, you look a thousand years younger"! I thought that was so cute. My kids rarely see me with my hair straighten. Honestly, I rarely get my hair done professionally. The last time I went to a salon was over a year ago. After I get my hair done, I vow … [Read more...]
Mom Ramblings: A Poem Only Moms Will Get.
If you give a mom a muffin…. If you give a mom a muffin, She’ll want a cup of coffee to go with it. She’ll pour herself some. Her 3 year old will spill the coffee. She’ll wipe it up. Wiping the floor, she’ll find dirty socks. She’ll remember she has to do the laundry. When she puts the laundry into the washer, She’ll trip over boots and bump into the freezer. Bumping into the freezer will remind her, She has to plan for supper. She will get out a pound of hamburger. She’ll look … [Read more...]
Co-Sleeping? Not This Mom!
I'm just being real here. I've come to the realization that I couldn't AND cannot share my lovely sleep number bed with any of my children. Don't get me wrong, I've done the co-sleeping thing when my babies were "babies" (like when they were newborns and not beyond one month!) but now that they (well, I'm really talking about my seven-year-old here) are bigger, I say no flippin' way! Not after last night's fiasco. Let me tell you, I had one of the worse nights ever! Since my husband went … [Read more...]

How Fun Are You? Keurig Wants to Know! | Plus, Enter To Win A Keurig Brewer! #YourPerfectCup
I've been told by my seven year old that I'm a "Fun Mom." I can't help but ask her if she thinks I'm fun when I send her to her room to clean it or when I tell her we can have breakfast for dinner. Needless to say, she disagrees with her own statement when I mention her room. I don't quite see myself as a "Fun Mom" as often as I should. I guess it's because I have too much on my mind, like say, REALITY -- bills, chores, cooking, cleaning -- all that good stuff us moms go through. The … [Read more...]
Out of Sight, Out of Mind…
You're heard of this saying: out of sight, out of mind -- right? That quote says it all about my blogging life as well as my home life. As you may know, I started working full time three months ago. The first month was extremely hectic for me. I was not used to being in an office for eight hours a day AND not being home when the kids arrived from school. I was exhausted. I got sick for three weeks with bronchitis and a nasty cough that would linger all day long. The laundry accumulated. The … [Read more...]

What Happened To New York Chica?
It's like a ghost town around here these days, right? I assure you, my dear and lovely readers, I have not stopped blogging/writing on New York Chica. I guess you can say my site was on "hiatus."
