I attempted to create cosmic cupcakes to celebrate the arrival of Ice Age: Collision Course on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra, which comes out on October 11th, but since I’m not very creative, they didn’t turn out as good as I would had liked.
I thought I was all set to make cupcakes to replicate the top of this movie poster (down below) but I guess I was wrong. Having the right tools is EVERYTHING! I’ve gotta remember that for the next project…
So here’s what happened:
Since this idea/recipe was last minute, I decided to look in my cupboard for the necessities. I had lemon cake mix, cream cheese frosting and gel colors on hand. I was all set. Or so I thought…
Getting the right colors was the hard part. I just couldn’t get the right shade . I kept testing and testing, so much that I was afraid I was gonna be left with no frosting for the cupcakes. After trial and error, these were the best cupcakes for the post.
Here’s the rest of the cupcakes. As you can tell, I gave up after the first few “cosmic-looking” cupcakes. My family loved them all either way so it was a win-win for everyone! 😉
I know what you’re thinking – Not much of a cosmic look (after four cupcakes!) but at least I tried. That’s all I can do.
As for the the movie Ice Age: Collision Course, I’m sure it will be a funny family movie – they all are! We loved all the Ice Age movies and look forward to more in the future. Scat is our most favorite character because he is so funny even without realizing it. He’s always into some kind of trouble or either trouble finds him.
