Hey everyone!
Long time, no blog! I know things have been a little quiet here but I’m back. After my little one got sick twice and gave me her nasty cold once, I think we are all free from those germs. C’mon Spring — We are all ready for you!
Anywho, I wanted to share a brand new Netflix original Series that really peaked my interest. It’s called Bloodline and it is so good! I recently started watching it and I’m already on epsiode 4. I cannot wait to watch it tonight. And guess what? On March 31, 2015, Bloodline was officially renewed for a second season to debut in 2016.
Woohoo!!
About Bloodline:
Bloodline centers on a close-knit family, The Rayburns, of four adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home. The Rayburns have some serious dark family secrets they’re willing to do anything to keep from coming out — lying included.
While you may not know the Rayburn clan just yet, The Philadelphia Inquirer calls Bloodline “an intricately drawn and superbly cast portrait of a family in crisis.” Starring Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) and set in the Florida keys, the series follows a family caught between the ugly truth and the terrible lie that covers it up.
But let’s face it, we all lie.
White lies make life easier for parents (the park is closed today) or make our kids happy (Santa Claus is coming or Don’t forget to place your tooth under your pillow for the Tooth Fairy!). Young kids make up stories as they learn the difference between fact and fiction, while older kids sometimes lie to cover for each other or to keep themselves out of trouble.
I know when I catch my kids in a lie, it never turns out good. Normally when that happens (which isn’t very often), they usually get punished for a week or two if they dont fess up or if they fianlly fess up to their lies, I’ll only punish them for a few days. It’s never easy dealing with a liar but know that the truth will always get found out!
How do you cope when you catch your kid (or anyone) lying?
