Let’s face it. It’s summer. It’s hot out. The sun is shining. The flowers are in full bloom. And the last thing anyone wants to do is slave over a hot stove to cook a hot meal when they get home from work. I rather let hubby take over the kitchen and cook whatever his heart desires while I’m outside enjoying the beautiful summer weather. Whatever he cooks, is fine by me. I’m not picky – If I didn’t cook it, I can’t complain and I won’t!
But guess what? My hubby has a hands-on type of job where he gets filthy most days and sometimes I don’t even want him in the kitchen! So when I want a home-cooked meal for my family, I get my iPad and use one of my favorite apps, The Verizon FiOS Mobile App. It’s amazing! It really puts me in a good mood when I’m able to watch my favorite shows on either the Food Network or the Cooking Channel while I cook dinner. Whatever is on those channels, I am sure to be inspired and energized to cook. Some of the shows give me some great tips and tricks of the kitchen.
Just a few weeks ago, while I was making tilapia for dinner, The Pioneer Woman came on and she made these delicious looking turkey meatballs that I just had to make. It was so simple to make with just a few ingredients. The very next day, I went out to buy the ingredients and viola — I made my family extremely happy. I was happy just knowing that I don’t have to continue making meatballs with beef. Since the new year, I made a promise to myself (and my body) that I would start cooking healthy meals and eating healthier as well. I’m glad to say that I’ve lost about 25 pounds since January and I feel so much better about myself.
I love how a simple app can make my dreaded chore of cooking so much more exciting!
And there’s so much you can do on the FiOS Mobile App. First of all, you can stream live TV shows, in and out of your home. Popular channels for live TV viewing includes the NFL Network, NFL RedZone, beINSport (in English and Spanish), BBC America, TNT, Nickelodeon, Tennis Channel*, HBO, TBS, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, Bravo, SyFy, HGTV, Food Network, EPIX, the Cooking Channel, EPIX, HBOHD, MAXHD and many others. This list is always growing so be sure to check Verizon FiOS online.
You can manage your DVR recordings, check the status of your DVR, and schedule new recordings from anywhere onto your DVR at home.
You could also use your eligible mobile phone or tablet device as a remote control while in your home if you have an HD set-top box.
These are the few things that I love about the Verizon FiOS Mobile App. I’ve been a faithful Verizon FiOS customer since 2011 and I’m certainly not looking back any time soon! Plus, how else would I cook meals in a happy mood? 😉
