Whoever thought of the saying “Time Flies,” is brilliant! Because that’s exactly what it does — it flies by SO QUICK! With a blink of an eye — BOOM, it’s six months later since this post.
Where does the time go?
The weekends definitely seem too short, especially when it’s Monday and you’re already wishing it were Friday. There really isn’t much time to do everything you planned for during the work week. Between the cooking, the chores, laundry, homework checks — the quality time with the family seems to fly by and again, with a blink of an eye, Monday is here and I get to do it all over again.
Yippee!!! {insert eye rolls & sarcasm here}
But you know what? I really can’t complain too much…and I shouldn’t. I thank God everyday I have a job to help pay bills, help put food on the table and not have that burden of not knowing when will I be able to get another blog gig for our bills. It’s nice to know that I’m contributing to the family financially and not have all the “load” hanging on my husband’s back.
And no, it’s not easy being a working mother. ALL the working moms know exactly what I’m talking about. Been there, done that before but that was over 6 years ago. Now it’s becoming a challenge for me being that I now have health issues I didn’t have before. Add a third child to the equation — and forget it! By the time I get home, all I want to do is sleep!
But I digress.
So six months has past and I thought I’d share a little of what I do. It’s nothing fancy. I work at the front desk in a medical office. There’s about 40 employees in the building — mostly female. I also work with two of the funniest girls I’ve ever met. We laugh constantly.
In my opinion, it’s a pretty good place to work at (most of the co-workers are nice) but I gotta be honest with you — I never knew that patients could be so rude and obnoxious!
UGH!
“Ok, I get that you are coming in for lab work or what have you and you haven’t eaten for twelve hours but crap, do you really have to be so mean? Ugh, I wish I could say that to some people I check in but we all have to put on a nice, big FAKE smile to all who come in.”
{Sigh}
Now, the patients who come in bright-eyed, bushy-tailed with a huge smile are my favorite! Duh! {evil grin}
They are the ones we will do anything for so remember that the next time you visit your doctor. 😉 Just sayin’.
All in all, I’m pretty happy where I am — for now. I like my job (except for the micromanaging part), my kids are healthy, we have a roof over our head and food on the table. I thank God everyday for what we have. Because that’s what matters the most. I feel extremely blessed. I hope you are too. 😉
You are an awesome and hard working Mami. None of your dedication goes unseen. I’m so happy you shared with us. Looking forward to reading your next post!

Great words from a great lady. The patients are very blessed to be welcomed by your smiling face.
Keep up the great job!
