A 3-day weekend is a big deal for us. It’s an extra day to sleep in, to enjoy each others company and just relax. It also means a 4-day work week! YAY! So I took advantage and made plans to spend time with my two favorite girls, my daughters.
Of course I did household chores (Blah!) like laundry, cleaning and all that good stuff but we did have a bit of fun too. We had lunch at Burger King, where I was indecisive about having a healthy salad or a greasy burger. Guess who won? Yup, that greasy burger won!
After our unhealthy lunch, we went to get a few snacks (Shhhh) and head to the movies where we saw Men In Black 3 in 2D.
We enjoyed the movie. Some parts were funny, some were gross but overall the movie was entertaining. We loved the first two Men in Black movie so this was definitely on our must-see list. What I really wanted to see were The Avengers but my girls voted a big fat no. I guess I’ll see it another day.
After the movie, we went food shopping and came right home. Since we had a greasy lunch, I decided to make a Hungry Girl cake. With one simple ingredient, a can of Libby’s Pumpkin.
It was delicious! It tastes so sinful and good. We really can’t taste the pumpkin in the cake. You can tell by the picture below.
I also experimented with my nails and did some nail marbling. It’s not as easy as I thought it would be but the results were pretty good. You need a few things at hand to get it right.
- Nail Polishes – Make sure it is not a fast dry polish [I used hot pink, blue and white].
- Toothpicks – to remove the excess polish in the water.
- Water – a cup of filtered cold water.
- Nail Polish Remover – to remove those mistakes and to add a drop into the water.
- Cotton Swabs – this makes removing polish around your nail easy.
I’m by no means an expert in this, as you can tell by the picture above. This was my first try. Below is a video so you’ll know what it’s supposed to look like. She’s a pretty good teacher but I know I need lots more practice. My goal is to make each nail match. Let’s see how that goes.
Sounds like it was a very fun weekend! I bet your daughters had a great time. Thanks for not giving details about Men in Black 3. 🙂
For being your first time doing marble design they came out very nice. I have to try it but like you said, it’s very time consuming, I need to buy tape and I just ran out of nail polish remover, lol. Enjoy your day, well what is left of it.

Thanks C! Once you try it, you’ll be hooked! I started when a movie was on and was done before the movie finished. So not too bad on time.
Sounds like you took great advantage of that extra day. 🙂 Your nails look dope and that chocolate cake, divine. I might just make it myself. Yum!
