Halloween is a time to dress up however you like and pretend you’re someone else for a day or night.  It’s also a time to watch the spookiest movie with your loved ones or with the whole family with some buttery popcorn by your side.  I admit, when I’m watching a scary movie, you will find me covering my eyes on the goriest parts.  I’m too afraid to have that image scar my brain so I have to hide.  I guess you can say I’m a bit of a chicken but I LOVE it! Doesn’t that sound SICK?? lol

As I was browsing through Netflix, I found a ton of movies for the mister and I to see when the kiddies are in bed and a whole lot for the whole family to enjoy as well.

Netflix Halloween Picks

Let’s go with the first movie, Scream.  This movie scares the bejeezus out of me but I crave it every year.  It just feels like Halloween when I watch this movie.  Just know that if Director Wes Craven is involved, you’re gonna scream! “Horror maven Wes Craven turns the genre on its head with this tale of a murderer who terrorizes a hapless high schooler by offing everyone she knows.”

Next up is Disney’s Tim Burtun The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is more like Halloween meets Christmas. If you ask me it’s freaky in every way.  “Jack Skellington, the spindly king of Halloween Town, kidnaps Santa Claus and plans to deliver ghoulish gifts to children on Christmas morning.  Great for the whole family!”

Next is Friday the 13th: Part 7: The New Blood.  Another movie that screams Halloween.  ANY Friday the 13th is spooky, scary and it makes you jump right outta your seat! “Part 7 is when Jason is released from his watery grave at the bottom of Crystal Lake by a telekinetic teen who returned to the site where her dad supposedly drowned.  A must-see if you like this masked murderer!”

Next is Texas Chainsaw. Just the sound alone of the chainsaw makes me want to run far and FAST! But again, if you like to be afraid, this is a must-see.  “When a young woman travels to Texas to collect her inheritance, she discovers that a brutal, chainsaw-wielding madman is part of the bequest.”

Next up is A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge.  If you really think about this movie, it’s kinda crazy that you can bring someone from your own dream.  But nonetheless, I’ve always loved Nightmare on Elm Street.  “Part 2 continues five years later. Freddy Krueger continues to torment the teens of Elm Street, but he’s back for revenge, looking to possess more innocent victims.”

Next up is The American Scream.  This one is saved on my queue so I haven’t seen this yet but it sounds interesting.  “Each year, in the sleepy town of Fairhaven, the creative minds behind three local homemade haunts valiantly try to ignite the town’s Halloween spirit.”

Next is Fun Size. My teenager loved this one so I would say it’s a must-see for those older kids that enjoy horror movies. “When feisty teenager Wren loses her offbeat kid brother on Halloween, she joins forces with her best buds to find him during one crazy night.”

Last on that list is Goose Bumps. You can’t go wrong with Goose Bumps. All three of my kids loved reading Goose Bumps so naturally they enjoy watching it too. They wait for it every year.
